This pistol is a product of the joint efforts of ZAO KOLCHUGA", a well-known Russian arms and ammunition distributor, and the design bureau at Izhevsky Mechanichesky Zavod (Izhmekh). IZH-79-9T semiautomatic gas pistol is a non-lethal defense weapon that can fire rubber pellets.Makarytch is based on the legendary Makarov pistol (PM) design of which and absolute reliability have been proven during over 50 years of service.

Due to an ingenious barrel design, Makarytch can’t be used for firing metal cartridges. The barrel design also makes sure that any type of cartridges with initial kinetic energy over 0.5 J / mm2 can’t leave the barrel. Any attempt to use overcharged ammo or heavier rounds will result in barrel deformation and rupture. Firing tear gas and noise confusion cartridges are only possible in the manual reload mode. The pistol is designed as a civil defense weapon.

IZH-79-9Т can be purchased by “tear-gas pistol permit” holders (the license to purchase, keep and bear defense weapons).
